True but I used one diaphragm in the reproducer and the other has the broken link, so I still need one more diaphragm, and I would like at least one unbroken original. I have one of Wyatt's copper ones in one reproducer, it sounds ok. But I want an original as well.

It should unscrew (don't lose the little nut!). you can chip off the old brown melted shellac to remove the button and use a bit of hot glue instead of more shellac.
