--- ARSC PRE-CONFERENCE WORKSHOP 2012 --- The Education and Training Committee of the Association for Recorded Sound Collections presents "Copyright and Sound Recordings." The workshop will be held on Wednesday, May 16, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., at the Rochester Riverside Radisson Hotel, Rochester, New York. This workshop is for anyone who deals with sound recordings -- archivists, librarians, private collectors, students, recording engineers, administrators, musicians -- and navigates the challenges of copyright. Peter Hirtle, Intellectual Property Officer for Cornell University Library, will lead the morning session with an in-depth look at copyright and related issues. The afternoon session will include a roundtable discussion with speakers from a variety of backgrounds. There will be a chance for the panel to address questions from workshop participants. The workshop registration fee is not included in the conference registration fee. Discounted early workshop registration (postmarked by April 24) is $75 for ARSC members, $85 for non-members, and $40 for student members.
