I am sure that we all have bought some old phonographs that came from heavy
smokers. I recently purchased a nice oak Herzog cabinet like the one on the
front of the Gadgets and Gizzmos book with the paper mache horn inside. It
is in excellent condition with the exception that it has a strong odor of
smoke. Has anyone had any luck getting the smell out from an old phonograph
or cabinet? This cabinet came from the original owners grand-daughter who
is in her late 70s. Both her and her husband are heavy smokers. Also, does
anyone have any sales literature on these cabinets? I would like to try to
get any information on them. I am also currently using this one for a
pattern to make the paper mache horn for my other two cabinets like this one
that are missing the horn. So far the project is working out pretty good.

Thanks in advance,

Ken Brekke
