It never fails! For three years I held on to a Victor Junior reproducer, thinking I would some day find a machine to put the reproducer on. As this did not materialize, I sold the reproducer a couple of years ago on e-bay. Guess what? I just picked up a beautiful little Victor Junior. Wouldn't ya know it? It had a Brunswick reproducer rigged on it! So..., if any one has a Victor Junior reproducer that they would part with, (name your price). Also looking for a crank escutcheon that would work for a Victor-V. Please contact me off line. jeff...@prevea.com There is a great story behind picking up this small collection in Iowa. Maybe in another post down the road? Regards! Sounds a lot like my workshop, er, I mean drying room. Too bad he was so nasty to you. I asked for the serial number on a bronze oxidized reproducer he was selling. These reproducers were made only for the Duncan Stop which he did not know. Edison made three MAIN different oxidized DD reproducers, the final one collectors call gun metal, Edison called it the Antique finish. The first is the copper oxidized which is like the Idelia finish, and the bronze was used for machines such as the W250 and it is always found with the setup for the Duncan Stop. Here is my communication with the sandblaster: Me: What is the serial number? SB: Have you purchased this item or bid on this item? HE KNEW I DID NOT. Me: No I have not purchased or bid on the item, do I have to purchase or bid to ask questions? HE THOUGHT THIS WAS A SMART REPLY, I THOUGHT IT WAS DUMB REPLY TO ASK A QUESTION YOU ALREADY KNOW THE ANSWER TO. SB: Vital information as such goes to the winner--so if you buy it, you get that information. Hey, what's your social? Do I have to know you to get that? Make smartass remarks and you will get them returned. I have time for serious inquiries only...not people trying to be nosy. IF ALL COLLECTORS WERE LIKE THE SANDBLASTER RESEARCH WOULD MUCH MORE DIFFICULT AND THERE WOULD BE A LOT LESS COLLECTORS AS 99.99% WOULD NOT BE COLLECTORS AS 99.99% ARE WONDERFUL PEOPLE. Me: You are clearly an idiot, serial numbers vital information? I SHOULD NOT HAVE SAID THIS, MY MISTAKE AND I DO FEEL BAD. You probably do not know where the serial number is or that the serial number begins with EM and this reproducer is found only on the machines with a Duncan stop. Do not write back, I wanted to see if the serial number was higher than the five of these I have. I collect based on serial numbers. SB: And if it's not vital, why do you want it? You're the idiot. Go home to your trailer and grab 'ya a tall one. DUNCAN STOP REPRODUCER WERE MADE WHEN DD REPRODUCERS HAVE THE SLEEVE IN THE THROAT, THE EARLY ONES HAVE THE SLEEVE. EDISON CONTINUED TO IMPROVE THE DD REPRODUCER SO THE LATER ONES HAVE BETTER SOUND. DURING THE TIME WHEN THE DUNCAN STOP WAS BEING MADE ALL EDISON DD REPRODUCERS HAVE THE BENT LIMIT PIN SO WE HAVE AN IDEA OF WHEN THE DUNCAN STOPPED BEING MADE, IN THE B SERIES OF THE REGULAR DD REPRODUCER. ALL THIS INO I HAVE IS BASED ON PEOPLE SHARING SERIAL NUMBERS. THE ONES WITH THE SLEEVE DO NOT SOUND AS GOOD AS THE LATER ONES. _______________________________________________ Phono-L mailing list http://phono-l.org <http://phono-l.org/> _______________________________________________ Phono-L mailing list http://phono-l.org <http://phono-l.org/> _______________________________________________ Phono-L mailing list http://phono-l.org _______________________________________________ Phono-L mailing list http://phono-l.org
