There is never any excuse to be rude, period. Some people seem to think they are the self appointed politeness police which is fine if they do it in a polite way that is not offensive. Advice is a gift, and you can do whatever you like with a gift. You do not club someone over the head to get them to accept your gift, offer advice to a wise man and he will appreciate it.
If you want to type out a mean e-mail do it and wait the next day before sending it out. Peter was most correct, anything you send as e-mail will be there forever so make certain the record you leave is one that reflects what you want to about yourself. You can tell how an eBay seller is by the negative feedback he left, those that are descriptive and those that castigate attest to the character of the seller. I suggest when mailing to people OFF list that you add OFF LIST to the subject and remember smart phones may not allow you to mail off list, mine sent a private message to the list even though I removed the Phono-L and put the person's e-mail in. When someone fires you up remember we all have our days, the time when I criticize others the most I find myself doing the same thing.
