A friend of mine once made a very detailed video showing the construction and functions of a Duo-Vox soundbox he restored, which was really quite astonishing. He thought it one of the most ingenious and best-sounding soundboxes of the acoustic era, including on Edisons. I agree with him. I'll write him and see if he'd be willing to repost for you.
