I finally found time (after 12+ years) to pull out the boxes in which I collected various parts for an Edison Standard and finally got it working The motor is rough, but with new governor weights, a tensioner spring, a belt and some careful oiling actually plays pretty well. I am pretty sure the topworks are from a Std. B that someone chromed at one time. It might be original, I'm not sure. It looks great (shiny!) and everything on it rolls nice and smoothly. Together they play 2 minute cylinders quite nicely.

I have a combo attachment with the slanted cover which I want to install so I can also play 4 minute cylinders, but it just does not quite fit. I thought I had everything lined up, but the gear you move back and forth just does not seem to have enough room to move.

If anyone has a combo attachment installed on a B, could you take off the cover and snap a few shots of the gearing so I can confirm how everything is supposed to fit together? I wish the cover was chromed, but I'll live with a black cover to be able to play 4 min. cylinders. Send to [email protected].

Thanks much!

David
