Hello All,

I¹ve come to own a Pathé Diffusor phonograph whose paper cone has some
moderate damage to it (e.g., a few small tears and folds and the metal
stylus holder has separated from the paper cone). I¹ve already been in
touch with vintage radio speaker restorer Buford Chidester about replacing
the cone with a new one, but I am also looking into having a go at repairing
the paper damage myself, in the interest of learning, appreciating, and
preserving the original.

I¹ve been reading up on some of the bookbinding hobby sites about various
vintage paper repair techniques including using archival grade tissue tapes
and starch based glues. I was wondering if anyone out there has attempted
such a repair themselves (on a Diffusor or even an Actuuelle cone), who
might have a few tips to share?

[For this who might not be familiar with the Diffusor design, here¹s a very
informative web site that showcases the same model as mine:

Thanks all,
