True, couple of profiles to deal with. Easy way to se if you can salvage them is to clean and remove oxidized oil by soaking in Piston Kleen, http://www.orisonmarketing.com/pistonkleen.html followed by a very hot water rinse and then into Evaporust which is obtainable at the local Auto Parts store. Out of the Evaporust to the how water rinse and then oiled with a very light R&O inhibited oil, ISO 10 Spindle Oil, no WD-40!

If the cleaned part looks like it might be salvageable then run it in a phono while lightly pressing a very fine stainless steel brush against the threads and allow the brush to be pulled down the entire length. This either works or not depending. Brush style A 0.003 SS bristle diameter. http://www.mcmaster.com/#stainless-steel-hand-brushes/=uzt6y5 these will work as well, https://www.solobrushes.com/813-Series-Wood-Handle-Toothbrush-Style-Cleaner-42 brass preferred in this larger bristle diameter.

The thread pitch is 100 tpi and you are not going to find thread chasers for either the actual profile or pitch.

Don't forget to clean the feed nut.

Hi Bob ~
An additional thing to take into account is that some feed screws had a
conventional V thread and some had a buttress thread (one face slanted, one
nearly or actually vertical).

As you may well know often the phonos you find nowadays are not in the best
condition. To that end, with regard to Edison cylinder machines feeder rods
for factory & conversion , 2&4 min., feeder rod threads, what is the thread
type ( per inch)

My goal is to see if "thread chasers" are available, which would allow
cleaning up those feeder rods and make them usable again.

It may take various ones given the various Edison cylinder machines, but I
am working on a "home" with a 2&4 min. conversion adaptor.

Any assistance links etc. would be appreciated.

Later
