Bug description: Crypt 5.2 versus older PHP versions
Description:

See also 'bogus' bug using 'x_' as salt
Is there a compatibility switch we can use to test against the 'old &
wrong' Windows crypted password?
Because I have this issue going from 5.1 to 5.2.5 where hundreds of users
will not be able to log in because the crypted password doesn't match.
If I could check (temporarily) using the compatibility switch, I can then
update the crypted password in the DB for future reference.
Thank you!
Patrick
Reproduce code:
---------------
crypt ('password','%r')
