Bug description:  Not able to open Msword in Ubuntu

Im using this code,

$comObject = new COM("Word.Application");
?>

But im getting error like this,what might be the problem
error is Fatal error: Class 'COM' not found in
/opt/lampp/htdocs/word/example.php on line 2
