Bug description: rss feed / tag causes php script to execute twice

While outputting rss tags directly to the browser, the php script executes
twice.
Reproduce code:

<SomeData>some stuff here</SomeData>

$fname = '/tmp/'.microtime().'.txt';
file_put_contents($fname, "2 files will be created when you run this

Expected result:

I expect only 1 file to be created in /tmp/
Actual result:

2 files are created in /tmp/
