hello,

I'm doing a project in php.The operating system i'm using is
Linux7.3.At first the database i used was mysql.
There was no problem with this. But now I want to use Oracle9i as my
database.I have installed Oracle9i for linux in another machine on the
same network.Oracle is running properly.I want to connect to this
database from a different machine using php
and Apache webserver.
Is there any extra configuration needed for the Apache web server to
get the connection? Is there anything to configure in the CLASSPATH in
my machine?
I have tested using the Oracle 8 functions in php. But,there are no
functions to specify the host name.

For ex: int OCILogon(string username, string password[, string db])
Using this function we can connect only to the local host.

Is there any configuration to be made in the /etc/php.ini
file?

Kindly reply soon...
