From: sylvain at abstraction dot fr Operating system: all PHP version: 5.2.12 PHP Bug Type: Feature/Change Request Bug description: Allow multiple simultaneous syslog connections
Description: ------------ the openlog function does not return a resource like would do the fopen or any database connection function. That implementation limits to 1 the simultaneous number of connections possible to syslog and this is problematic when we aim to use syslog with different log locals. Expected result: ---------------- $syslog_local0 = openlog('foo', LOG_NDELAY, LOG_LOCAL0); syslog($syslog_local0, LOG_WARNING, "blah"); $syslog_local1 = openlog('bar', LOG_NDELAY, LOG_LOCAL1); syslog($syslog_local1, LOG_WARNING, "blah blah"); closelog($syslog_local0); closelog($syslog_local1); -- Edit bug report at http://bugs.php.net/?id=51118&edit=1 -- Try a snapshot (PHP 5.2): http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=51118&r=trysnapshot52 Try a snapshot (PHP 5.3): http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=51118&r=trysnapshot53 Try a snapshot (PHP 6.0): http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=51118&r=trysnapshot60 Fixed in SVN: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=51118&r=fixed Fixed in SVN and need be documented: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=51118&r=needdocs Fixed in release: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=51118&r=alreadyfixed Need backtrace: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=51118&r=needtrace Need Reproduce Script: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=51118&r=needscript Try newer version: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=51118&r=oldversion Not developer issue: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=51118&r=support Expected behavior: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=51118&r=notwrong Not enough info: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=51118&r=notenoughinfo Submitted twice: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=51118&r=submittedtwice register_globals: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=51118&r=globals PHP 4 support discontinued: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=51118&r=php4 Daylight Savings: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=51118&r=dst IIS Stability: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=51118&r=isapi Install GNU Sed: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=51118&r=gnused Floating point limitations: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=51118&r=float No Zend Extensions: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=51118&r=nozend MySQL Configuration Error: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=51118&r=mysqlcfg
