Turning the engine explicitly on where php is needed in php.conf helps.



Anyway, there clearly is a bug and it should be fixed.

Tried upgrading to 5.3. The bug persists.

By the way, RHEL 5.6 is out and includes PHP 5.3.  That's probably your
easiest 

way to address this.

Chances are it has been fixed years ago.  I remember a few fixes along
those 

lines.  You are running code that is 5 years old.  If you can reproduce
this in a 

modern version, re-open the bug report.
