Description: ------------ MariaDB (MySQL fork) uses the MySQL protocol for connections, but supports at least 2 interesting features that can be used only with a client which support them: * Non-blocking operations: http://kb.askmonty.org/en/non-blocking-client-library * Progress report for long queries: http://kb.askmonty.org/en/progress-reporting I hope that mysqli/mysqlnd will add support for these features.
