I backed up the old libs, removed them, then did a ldconfig. A 'ls /usr/lib/libps*' returns nothing, however, the php compile still fails with the same errors. Also, when I do a locate libpspell, it returns this.... What you need to do is backup the old pspell/aspell libraries & headers which are in /usr/lib & /usr/include and then remove them. I suspect the problem is the result of you having more then 1 pspell or aspell libraries.
