There will not be any such support in PHP 4. After upgrading apache will crash with an error saying it can't find libmysqlclient.so.10. I recompiled apache and came up with the same error. I then recomplied php and during the "make" php errored out with the following: make: *** [libphp4.la] error 1 I downgraded to MySQL 3.23.55-1 and recompled php and it worked fine. There seems to be an issue with compiling php-4.3.1 with MySQL-4.0.12 (Production). If anyone can help with this that would be great since I want to use some of the new features in MySQL 4.x.
