Finally I was able to switch to CGI based PHP.
Although it is (very) slow, it gives the right results !

Same problem as described overhere.
No generation of graphs and although I did not trace it back, I see and
experience exactly the same problems.

I have experienced the same problem that
iberry has seen. I noticed that on IIS 5,
the cmd.exe gets hung up. I have to do an
iisreset to clear the error. The script works
fine for 1 image on a page...but when you introduce
multiple images...it errors out...page just hangs...
and then you have to do an IISRESET.
