I am running a production site on RH 7.3 and have a service contract with RedHat for updates via Red Hat Network. This is the latest version available on Red Hat Network. I'm sure I'm not the only one in this situation. If you don't want so many bug reports about this matter, I suggest you put somewhere in your release notes that your software doesn't work with Red Hat 7.3. > (And thanks a lot for adding the full configure output > into your report, we really find that useful..NOT) Ok, next time I'll just say "this doesn't work". Or better yet, I won't bother submiting a bug report at all since I have no desire to be subject to acerbic sarcasm. A simple, "btw, the configuration output is of no use to us" would have sufficed. The most effective response would have been, "before submitting another report, please read these instructions carefully" and given a URL that lists information to include and not to include. Below is my compiler info: Name : gcc Relocations: /usr Version : 2.96 Vendor: Red Hat, Inc. Release : 113 Build Date: Thu 12 Sep 2002 12:06:00 AM PDT Install date: Thu 03 Apr 2003 02:28:36 PM PST Build Host: stripples.devel.redhat.com Group : Development/Languages Source RPM: gcc-2.96-113.src.rpm Size : 8389876 License: GPL Packager : Red Hat, Inc. <http://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla> ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2003-11-01 15:44:57] [EMAIL PROTECTED] What compiler (version) are you using? Try generating a backtrace from the optimized binary. It may not give much information, but it may give a clue regarding the cause for the crash. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2003-10-31 18:53:36] turadg at uclink dot berkeley dot edu Oddly, once I changed from "./configure" to "./configure --enable-debug" the generated binary worked fine. Perhaps some of the build options for enable-debug are required in general on this platform? To make sure I'm not crazy, I untarred a fresh distribution and ran "./configure; make" again. Again with the segfault. Since I didn't have a core to send in, here's the best I can think of. The output of `file`: sapi/cli/php: ELF 32-bit LSB executable, Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV), for GNU/Linux 2.2.5, dynamically linked (uses shared libs), not stripped ------------------------------------------------------------------------ [2003-10-31 16:55:11] [EMAIL PROTECTED] Compile your php with --enable-debug and reply with the backtrace of the crash. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The remainder of the comments for this report are too long.
