ok. thats probably not bug but diffrence. you got to
preg_match("/^$login\_/,$sth)

anyway by making such diffrences you make all aplications writen to 4.x
incompatibile.

there is some bug in preg_match only in php 5

preg_match("/^$login_/,$sth) will always be true

preg_match("/^$login/,$sth) is ok. diffrence is _ after $login. You
cant use it :/

if before matching $login = "$login_"; everytjing will be ok. 

this but was not present in php 4.x
