Taking into account that PHP can be installed on systems that do not have libxml2-devel, but still have xml2-config, adding such message would not make any sense to me. Please check your libxml2 installation." This suggests libxml2 installation, but: > yum install libxml2 ... libxml2 is installed and is the latest version.
