If OpenLDAP hangs, there is not much PHP can do about it. Not PHP problem -> bogus. The system is - FreeBSD 5.4-RELEASE-p13 AMD64 (SMP) - OpenLDAP Client libraries 2.2.30 - PHP 4.4.2 - Apache 2.0.58 Script executed by mod_php hangs on ldap_bind and exits after 30 sec timeout, while in CLI version everything works just fine.
