From: sam at ims dot net Operating system: Fedora Core 4 PHP version: 5.1.4 PHP Bug Type: *Network Functions Bug description: getmxrr broken in 5.1.4; worked in PHP 4.x
Description: ------------ After upgrading from PHP 4.4.1 to PHP 5.1.4, the getmxrr function ceased to work. It does not throw an error message, but simply terminates the HTTP response at the call. I've switched to checkdnsrr, which works fine, and is probably a more appropriate call, but since getmxrr is still in the documentation for version 5, this appears to be a bug. Reproduce code: --------------- if (getmxrr($host, $email)) return TRUE; Expected result: ---------------- TRUE returned if $email corresponds to a domain with an MX record; FALSE otherwise. Actual result: -------------- Termination of HTTP response. Neither TRUE nor FALSE returned. Nothing appears in the Apache error log. -- Edit bug report at http://bugs.php.net/?id=38195&edit=1 -- Try a CVS snapshot (PHP 4.4): http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=38195&r=trysnapshot44 Try a CVS snapshot (PHP 5.2): http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=38195&r=trysnapshot52 Try a CVS snapshot (PHP 6.0): http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=38195&r=trysnapshot60 Fixed in CVS: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=38195&r=fixedcvs Fixed in release: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=38195&r=alreadyfixed Need backtrace: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=38195&r=needtrace Need Reproduce Script: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=38195&r=needscript Try newer version: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=38195&r=oldversion Not developer issue: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=38195&r=support Expected behavior: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=38195&r=notwrong Not enough info: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=38195&r=notenoughinfo Submitted twice: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=38195&r=submittedtwice register_globals: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=38195&r=globals PHP 3 support discontinued: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=38195&r=php3 Daylight Savings: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=38195&r=dst IIS Stability: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=38195&r=isapi Install GNU Sed: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=38195&r=gnused Floating point limitations: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=38195&r=float No Zend Extensions: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=38195&r=nozend MySQL Configuration Error: http://bugs.php.net/fix.php?id=38195&r=mysqlcfg
