I can't see the example you mention anywhere in the 
manual.

Please have a look at php.net/mktime and see how mktime() 
really works.

as the manual at:
http://si.php.net/date

date("L", mktime(0,0,0,0,0,2004)) shoud return 1, but it returns 0;

if year is 2003, it returns 1, Like it is describet in manual, ir
returns right the oposite.
