Try to look for any warnings from the linker or the сompiler.

cause the copyjob for php crashes (php is missing),
I created it:
touch /tempdata/php5.2-200612121330/sapi/cgi/php
after this the install returns without error.
But php --version returns empty.
php-config --version ==> 5.2.1-dev

I don't think I can help you as long as I don't see what has gone wrong
there.
It works fine here on AIX 5.1 and 5.3.
Try to look for any warnings from the linker or the compiler.
