Hi I'm having a really big problem at the moment (or at least my server provider is and it's gettting abit tiresome!)
I've been using PHP/MySQL combo for a looong time, and never come across this error before, and I don't know exactly what is causing it. There's a new installation of php4.04 pl and MySQL 3-23-39 on red hat, but when I try and run my usual php_connect I get the following error: - Warning: MySQL Connection Failed: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2) in testfile.php on line 2 Anyone have any ideas what is causing this (or more to the point how to fix it - is it a configuration file issue, and if so which one?)
