Thomas, It a used to referance a class method or proporty
Example: <? Class Simple { var $debug = True; // Proporty Function Debug($msg) // Method { if($this->debug == True) { Print($msg); } } } //To call the class you would do something like this $simple = new simple(); $simple->debug("This is a test message"); ?> That should be enough to get you started Thank You Brian Paulson Sr. Web Developer [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.chieftain.com -----Original Message----- From: Thomas [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Monday, December 03, 2001 2:32 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [PHP-DB] EZ Question...I think I have looked into some source code that I found, but I'm a newbie at this, and don't understand.. if ( 0 == $this->link_id) { In this statment, what does the '->' repersent? this statment (operator?) occurs alot in this code that I have, but I can't find the definition on any site...can anyone help?
