If this:

; Magic quotes for runtime-generated data, e.g. data from
SQL, from exec(), etc.magic_quotes_runtime = Off

is literal, it should be:

; Magic quotes for runtime-generated data, e.g. data from
SQL, from exec(), etc.
magic_quotes_runtime = Off

; Magic quotes for incoming GET/POST/Cookie data.
magic_quotes_gpc = Off

; Magic quotes for runtime-generated data, e.g. data from
SQL, from exec(), etc.magic_quotes_runtime = Off

Could you post the relevant section of your php.ini file?

That does seem odd...

Try get_magic_quotes_runtime() instead of get_magic_quotes_gpc() - gpc quoting only
happens to get/post/cookie data.
