Sorry nico, I misread the ticket,
The problem is that the ftp extension hasn't been updated to support socket based file
descriptors.
I will take a look at a fix for this.

The idea here is to be able to read from the fopen()'ed
stream and ftp_fput() the data.. not the other way around.

for example :
$fp = fopen("http://www.php.net", "r");
ftp_fput( $ftp_stream, "remote", $fp, FTP_ASCII);
doesn't work.
But the following code-example :
$fp = fopen("file.txt", "r");
ftp_fput( $ftp_stream, "remote", $fp, FTP_ASCII);
works.
