The http upload stuff has been rewritten in CVS.
Try the latest CVS snapshot from http://snaps.php.net/
Also check the ulimit issue Hartmut mentioned.

yep, I have lots of times.. must be a memory limit somewhere in your system stopping 
PHP getting enough memory to perform the upload. can you try the exact settings jani 
said (the 16M ones) and lets see if that works.

You're the only one who experiences this 'bug' so I doubt it
is a bug but only a misconfiguration. Did you or did you
not set those directives I mentioned before?
