Will the PEAR manual be reachable via the php.net search
    function?

If the documentation gets split up (which, in one way, makes
sense) how do you find the documentation than for your
    favourite extension?

It's important to still have ONE extension index which links
then to the proper documentation (either PHP manual or PEAR
manual) so this all gets less confusing.
