Woohoo! Thanks, I had 2 version of the libxml include files hanging around in the following directories:
/usr/local/include/libxml/ /usr/local/include/libxml2/libxml/ with the former being the older version, but thats the one it was picking up... I removed the former libxml directory and everything is all fine and dandy. Made and installed without hickup.
