I agree on 110% that it will be harder to maintain the code. I myself
will never use any non-english errors in my PHP setups and will always
spend precious minutes grepping for error code. But, this will benefit
the whole project. It is not a stupid idea - it is "usability".
That's quite arguable, Maxim.
I personally find error internationalized error messages as very annoying,
and I have quite a bit of experience in that. Fact is, especially in a
technical area such as PHP, lots of information is lost or gets degraded
when you translate it.
That is the exact reason why i always buy books in english and no german
translations.
I'm sure that there are people who would prefer localized error messages,
but my guess is that they won't be the majority of users.
