Hmmm, this is not my area of expertise and maybe I did not make clear what I meant, but ... What I was trying to say was this: Isn't the plan for the PEAR installer to be able to install binary versions which are not compiled on the client but on the server (or uploaded compiled to the server)? So when people on windows use the PEAR installer they will get a binary and not the source.
