The objection to being prespective rather than descriptive makes absolutely no sense - and I couldn't disagree any more.
All of the projects in this group writing PHP 7 code will (hopefully) *need to develop their own style guide anyway* - save the work, and create one together now. Don't wait for the community to diverge on this because that creates an absolute mess when it comes to merge conflicts on pull requests.
