Hello everyone, it's that time of the year again: August will be an election month, and 4 Core Committee seats are up for reelection: - Beau Simense - Cees-Jan Kiewiet - Samantha QuiƱones - Chuck Burgess
First and foremost, I would like to thank those four for their help in their role. As always, we need nominations to fill those seats for another term. I'm opening this thread to ask for *Core Committee nominations*. This thread will stay *open up to August 13rd*, and the voting will be following shortly after. For the full rules, you can refer to our bylaw (which I'll be quoting below): https://www.php-fig.org/bylaws/elections-and-vacancies/ FAQ: Q: Who can be nominated? A: Anyone! The CC members of the PHP-FIG are basically the technical steering committee; citing the bylaw: https://www.php-fig.org/bylaws/mission-and-structure/#the-core-committee "The Core Committee is a twelve (12) member board of individuals recognized for their technical skill and expertise. The Core Committee is responsible for final decisions regarding what specifications FIG will consider and those that are approved. The Core Committee is responsible for ensuring a high level of quality and consistency amongst all published specifications, and that all relevant perspectives and use cases are given due consideration." Q: Who can nominate? A: Citing the bylaw: "Candidates for Secretary or the Core Committee must be nominated/proposed by an existing Project Representative or FIG Secretary to be considered, and must publicly accept their nomination in order to be valid. Prospective candidates may seek nominations in any way they see fit." Feel free to reach out to me, the other two secretaries (Asmir & Buster) or any other sitting PHP-FIG member to ask for a nomination or for further information. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "PHP Framework Interoperability Group" group.
