I think we've got about the same odds as a newbie reading/understanding that as we do of them searching the archives before they post. It wouldn't hurt, but it's not going to change anything. As for my $0.02 on the whole matter, I say deal with it. You're going to get good answers, bad answers, and sometimes no answer at all, as well as good questions, bad questions, and questions from idiots.
