I don't mean to be rude, but this has been discussed HUNDREDS of times on the list. PHP is NOT stable with Apache 2, and is unlikely to be stable any time soon -- that's straight from people who know, like Rasmus. If you wish to use PHP in a production environment, use Apache 1.3.x. I doubt even PHP 5 will be a stable Apache 2 release, so don't hold your breath. Search the archives for detailed answers, especially from Rasmus.
