Fr one, you'll probably want to make a symbolic link to make your url look a little prettier and make it easy on you for upgrades. So for example if you make a symbolic link from phpMyAdmin-2.5.2-rc2 to phpMyAdmin then every single time you upgrade you just ungzip your directory, then recreate the symbolic link and there you have it.
Now if you want to get rid of that error just set this variable: $cfg['PmaNoRelation_DisableWarning'] = TRUE; And that should take care of it! Cheers!
