first of all i don't know anything about linux . we had a administrator for all our linux requirements, now that the company has fired him (without hiring anyone for the job) i am left on my own . i want to use vpopmail extension. but the problem is it is not installed on the linux server.
i want to know what is the command (exact command) that i use to install & configure vpopmail . without disturbing the existing system

Configuring php should be the furthest thing from your mind at the moment. You can't configure it with something that isn't there. Your first step is get vpopmail up and running, which is way off topic for this list. Check out here...
