You don't reall need to compile --with-fdftk, to generate fdf files. If you're not doing really fancy stuff (just filling out a form) then, be sure to take a look at the notes on this page. There are some examples of how to easisly generate fdf files from an array of data (say from a db_fetch_assoc() call). Cheers.
