For a normal file (not through PHP) the headers are:
Accept-Ranges: bytes
Connection: Close
Content-Length: 25600
Content-Type: application/msword
Date: Tue, 23 Dec 2003 09:51:19 GMT
ETag: "08f72d578c3c31:8d0"
Last-Modified: Tue, 16 Dec 2003 02:03:44 GMT
Server: Microsoft-IIS/5.0
And through PHP (my script) it is:
Accept-Ranges: bytes
Cache-Control: private
Connection: Close
Content-Disposition: inline; filename="testdoc.doc"
Content-Length: 25600
Content-Type: application/msword; name="testdoc.doc"

It seems whatever I try to set the headers I have control over, it doesn't
work...
Is there anyway one can stop PHP from sending the Pragma at all?

Yes, there is a difference, I didn't say there wasn't, just that I couldn't
see how that (to me) small difference would actually make such a big
difference...
