[PHP] Prob with sending a php variable in an email

I have a problem sending a php variable ie $Username in a simple email form,
example as follows:
<body>
<?
Username="Sysdba";
?>

<a href="Mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?
subject= Web site
&body=User name:
<?
$Username;
?>
Main Agent Code:">
Support Desk</a>

</body>
