IMAP is a general file access protocol[1] (POP3 isnt)
So IMAP is more dangerous, by its very nature.
From a user perspective, this doesnt matters.
But it's very different when you're administrator
taking care of a site's security.

I was simply pointing out the security implications
of setting up an imap server.

I wont discuss this further, being really off-topic.
