Do you have trans_sid enabled? If so, and if your browser is not
accepting cookies (which may happen either because you've turned them
off or because the domain from which they appear to come does not match
the actual domain), then using redirects can be problematic because the
session ID isn't being passed between locations.

Another possibility is if there is a proxy between you and the server.
If so, you'll need to do some workarounds to keep the proxy server from
caching session IDs between requests.
