Correct me if I misunderstand you're question, but;
If you use HTTP_POST_VARS you already have the variable names. I
mean... how else do you use the values you're talking about?
$HTTP_POST_VARS{"var_1"}, $HTTP_POST_VARS{"var_2"}, etc.
var_1 and var_2 are the variable names...
