I'm going to agree with Jay... most users are lazy enough that if you just require them to have a user account then that will suffice. Since this is only for a joke site that would be my suggestion as well. However, if you really, really wanted to identify remote *computers* then you can try tracking the clock skew of the client which is making that request. If you're interested then google for "clock skew tracking" and you should get some hits.
