I think you would want something like: sendmail_path = /usr/bin/sendmail -froot -t -i The -froot sets the 'from' as documented in man sendmail. But that's only supposed to be for trusted users, and it's unlikely that you configured sendmail for the PHP/Apache user to be trusted... But this is the Right Path to follow for this issue, I think.
