[PHP] returning the index number

I have an array of files to be uploaded

<td><input name="userfile[]" type="file"></td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td> 2.</td>
<td><input name="userfile[]" type="file"></td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>3.</td>
<td><input name="userfile[]" type="file">


I can get the name

foreach ($_FILES['userfile']['name'] as $value) {

  echo $value
  }

but I want the index position, any ideas?
